Just picked up a Norelco NT 9110 ear/nose trimmer. if you have an issue with ahemm, excess hair in your nose, in your ears, I cannot recommend this device highly enough. Unlike trimmers I had used in the past, which are basically a cutting edge that rotates inside of a cylinder, the Norelco has a flat cutting edge. Here are some good pictures at Amazon:http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelco-NT9110-Precision-Trimmer/dp/B000W405SG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315718908&sr=8-1 I used it for the first time yesterday, and all I can say is that I am very pleased with its performance, and it has solved a long standing problem. It comes with a 2 year warranty, plus Phillips/Norelco offers a 45 day, no questions asked money back guaranty-what's not to like? If you have a problem with unwanted ear/nose hair, this is a gem. It also does your eyebrows.

It's a good trimmer, just make sure to always rinse it after use. If not, the "stuff" in your nose can um..set, preventing the blades form working.

Thanks for the tip. I already did so, and it's covered in the instructions that come with the trimmer. Norelco is pretty emphatic about keeping the device clean. it is ridiculously simple to clean.

I work in a store that sells shaving products, I ALWAYS recommend this one. Nobody's ever returned it, it seems like it's really well made and designed.

How has your experience been thus far? There seem to be a LOT of negative reviews on Amazon for it.

Can anyone recommend a non-electric nose/ear trimmer? I've had bad luck with the electric ones, falling out of the cabinet and breaking into 6 pieces. Also, I don't really care for the poor battery life and bulky size for travel.
Thanks for any tips!

My experience has been very positive. I did read some of the negative reviews on Amazon, and most seemed to be complaints that the trimmer stopped working all of a sudden. Between Amazon's return policies, and Norelco's 45 day money back guaranty, it seemed as if it was a chance I could take free of risk. I have used it twice in 4 days, and could not be any happier with it.

I would strongly recommend the http://www.amazon.com/Groom-Mate-Pl...FJXS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315894064&sr=8-1
I have both this and the Norelco one, and whereas the Norelco one is good for trimming my occasionally crazy eyebrows, (in my nose it seems to just yank out some hairs and not touch most others, leaving my eyes watering and my nostrils almost untouched) the groommate one works like a dream. Cleans house perfectly, easy to clean, lifetime guarantee, batteries required, and very, very compact. YMMV as always, but for me the Groom Mate is the clear winner!

It seems as if you have to use it with 2 hands-am I correct? If so, how easy is it to trim ear hair with both hands?

To be honest, I only use it on my schnozz, not on the ears. Those hairs get tweezed long before they're cuttable length! That said, I just tried to do the same movement at my ear using a pen and it seems like it wouldn't be a problem.

I picked one up recently based on a few recommendations that I have seen for it. Seems to work fairly well. It could work better imo.
It's better than the Wahl nose trimmer I was using, so that one went in the trash.
