- 摘要
Recently, a diffusive intraparticle dynamic model has been published by the authors and applied for describing few systems in order to check its validity. The aim of the present paper is to improve its validity in describing different kind of systems. At this purpose, adsorption data have been taken from literature, in which different adsorbate/adsorbent systems have been considered. In every case, the surface diffusivity of the pollutant (D-S) has been fitted on the experimental data. The obtained parameters fall within reasonable ranges and a good fitting has been obtained for each case, demonstrating the generality of the adopted model. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. A new multi-mechanism adsorption kinetic model and its relation to mass transfer coefficients
Chuncai Yao, Chenxi Zhu
Summary: A new multi-mechanism kinetic model for batch adsorption is proposed in this study, where a dimensionless parameter serves as a mechanism indicator. The model can convert to different adsorption kinetics models as the dimensionless parameter changes values. The estimated mass transfer coefficients show a reasonable agreement with literature values.

Accumulation of Vanadium by Nanoscale Zero-Valent Iron Supported by Activated Carbon under Simulation Water Conditions: A Batch Study
Qiang Huang, Shuai Fu, Huijie Zhu, Huaihui Song, Zhe Yang, Xiuji Zhang, Junhong Bie, Jianhong Lu, Mingyan Shi, Bo Liu
Summary: In this study, vanadium (V(V)) was successfully removed from simulation water using nanoscale zero-valent iron immobilized by activated carbon (NZVI/AC) as an adsorbent. The effects of pH, dissolved oxygen, common ions, and adsorption kinetics on V(V) removal were investigated. The intraparticle diffusion model was found to fit the kinetics data well, indicating rapid adsorption of vanadium by NZVI/AC within the first 12 hours and equilibrium reached in approximately 72 hours. The removal efficiency of V(V) increased from pH 2 to pH 8 and decreased after pH 8. Phosphate and silicate significantly reduced the elimination of V(V), while the effects of other anions and humic acid were negligible. Fe2+ and Al3+ cations improved V(V) adsorption. High oxygen levels impeded vanadium elimination, while anoxic conditions encouraged it. Elution with 0.1 M NaOH was found to be an efficient method for renewing NZVI/AC.

Adsorption of diclofenac onto Fe2O3-pillared montmorillonite: Equilibrium, kinetics and thermodynamic studies
Sesegma Ts. Khankhasaeva, Sayana V. Badmaeva, Marina V. Ukhinova
Summary: The adsorption of diclofenac (DCF), a common pharmaceutical pollutant, on Fe2O3-pillared montmorillonites (Fe-PMts) was studied. Fe-PMts were synthesized by intercalation of natural montmorillonite with iron polyoxocations. The pillaring process significantly increased the specific surface area and sorption capacity of the clay. The pH, sorbent content, DCF concentration, and temperature were found to be the main factors affecting DCF adsorption. The kinetic data and adsorption isotherm were analyzed using various models, and the results showed that the adsorption followed pseudo-second order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm. The thermodynamic parameters indicated that the adsorption of DCF on Fe-PMt was spontaneous and exothermic. Fe-PMt was proven to be an effective and environmentally friendly sorbent for DCF removal in pharmaceutical wastewater treatment.

Mathematical modeling of breakthrough curves for 8-hydroxyquinoline removal from fundamental equilibrium and adsorption rate studies
S. Aguirre-Contreras, R. Leyva-Ramos, R. Ocampo-Perez, C. G. Aguilar-Madera, J. V. Flores-Cano, N. A. Medellin-Castillo
Summary: The mathematical modeling of the dynamic adsorption of 8-Hydroxyquinoline on activated carbon in batch and fixed-bed adsorbers is described in this study. The model considers mass transport phenomena and includes axial dispersion, convective transport, intraparticle diffusion mechanisms, and adsorption on the active site. A methodology based on adsorption equilibrium and rate studies is proposed to solve the model, without considering fitting the mass transport parameters for breakthrough curve prediction, which is an important advancement in fixed-bed column design. The equilibrium results show that 8-HQ adsorbs onto activated carbon through dispersive and hydrophobic interactions, with a mass adsorbed of 454 mg g-1. The kinetic study reveals that achieving equilibrium is faster under turbulent stirring regime, and intraparticle transport is governed by surface diffusion. By using information obtained from the batch regime, the packed bed behavior can be interpreted and predicted in a wide range of operational conditions with an error of 10.6% in breakthrough point prediction.

The Perspective of Using the System Ethanol-Ethyl Acetate in a Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) Cycle
Elio Santacesaria, Riccardo Tesser, Sara Fulignati, Anna Maria Raspolli Galletti
Summary: With the use of an appropriate catalyst, ethyl acetate and pure hydrogen can be produced from bioethanol in one step. The reversible reaction allows for the hydrogenation of ethyl acetate back to ethanol, closing the chemical cycle of a Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) process. The advantages of using bioethanol in this process include its renewable nature, the greenness of ethanol and ethyl acetate as products, and the relatively mild conditions and high energy efficiency of the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation processes. The main drawback is the relatively low hydrogen storage density compared to other conventional LOHC systems.

Prediction of phosphate adsorption amount, capacity and kinetics via machine learning: A generally physical-based process and proposed strategy of using descriptive text messages to enrich datasets
Baiqin Zhou, Huiping Li, Ziyu Wang, Hui Huang, Yujun Wang, Ruichun Yang, Ranran Huo, Xiaoyan Xu, Ting Zhou, Xiaochen Dong
Summary: The use of machine learning to predict the performance of specific adsorbents in phosphate adsorption shows great promise in saving time and revealing underlying mechanisms. However, the small size of the dataset and insufficient detailed information limits the model training process and the accuracy of results. To address this, the study employs a fuzzing strategy that replaces detailed numeric information with descriptive text messages on the physiochemical properties of adsorbents. This strategy allows the recovery of discarded samples with limited information, leading to accurate prediction of adsorption amount, capacity, and kinetics. The study also finds that phosphate uptake by adsorbents is generally through physisorption, with some involvement of chemisorption. The framework established in this study provides a practical approach for quickly predicting phosphate adsorption performance in urgent scenarios, using easily accessible information.
